About the Author
Milton H. Greene, was one of the earliest and best photographers working in the early days of color photography. Outside his outstanding Monroe images, he has worked with a plethora of other celebrities, from Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Audrey Hepburn, to Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich, Dizzy Gillespie and Judy Garland.

A dreary cool Sunday, it's early afternoon & autumn has arrived here in New York City. Still in my robe & a cup of coffee bedside- the uninvited jolt of my buzzer goes ignored. Moments later, a remembrance! Slipping on my sandals I dash down 3 flights of stairs hoping the box will be there and that my robe won't open. Inside the entrance, large, beige & wrapped with Amazon tape, happily, robe still in check, I lug the surprisingly heavy box into my bedroom. Upon opening- a sight to behold- on the cover- with neither title nor text, a beautifully clear image of Marilyn stands alone gazing back at the viewer. On the back- no summary, not one letter- only an image of a "candid" Marilyn in bed, whose eyes, once again, seemingly meet the reader. With only the binder reserved for the title, the cover & back invoke a feeling of startling intimacy, their lush quality and fine attention to detail set the tone that runs consistently throughout the book. Cozying up with the heavy book & a cup of coffee, for the 1st time I experience a book from the beginning to the end. Having long considered Milton Greene Marilyn's best photographer I've been hoping for his archives to be shared with the world. Thank you Joshua Logan- you've created a masterpiece cementing your father's legacy as a Fine Artist- a truly magnificent photographer and you've provided a real jewel for Marilyn Monroe fans. Bravo!
I was expecting a fantastic photobook when I bought it. When I actually received the book, opened it up and saw the first photos I got chills. As I continued to flip through the pages I kept getting chills. This book goes beyond expectations and is worth every dollar! It's amazing that we get to own these photos of Marilyn in such large, high quality prints. Thank you to Joshua Greene for putting a great effort into this book.Buy it, people!!
Wow. Just wow. I am a fan of both Marilyn and classic photography, and nothing comes close to this collection. Milton Greene captures Marilyn's soul in a way no other photographer did. The world owes a debt of gratitude to Greene's son, Joshua, for restoring this body of work. Highly recommended for any fan.
This is one of the most beautiful books. It is a large coffee table style book. It is beautifully bound and printed well. I was skeptical when I read the collection included never before seen images. But guess what? There are never before seen images in this book. If you are a Marilyn fan this book is a must have. Some of my favorite images were taken by Milton Greene, his son Joshua has taken great care to preserve and curate this lovely collection. The value is exceptional. This will be a Marilyn Monroe must have. Well done!
I absolutely love this book. It is filled with the most delightful pictures of Marilyn. I have it on my coffee table for guests to look at. I love how when they start looking they seem to disappear from us as they get so absorbed into the book. While all of the pictures are fresh and stunning, some are absolutely breath-taking of Marilyn. I hope they make some available to purchase. If you are a Marilyn fan or think you are this is essential for you to have in your collection.
This book is a masterpiece on every level. The book itself is masterfully produced. Fantastic printing job. Of course, the subject matter is utter perfection. If you have any interest in MM you must own this book. The collaboration between Marilyn and Milton is one for the ages. Do not miss this book. I missed the large format version of Miltons Marilyn and regretted it.
This book is a must-have for any Marilyn book collector. We've been wanting this for years and now we have so many unseen photos from sessions we know well. Thank you Joshua for all of your hard work and dedication to preserving these photos into a wonderful coffee table book. I find something new every time I open it and flip through.
There are thousands of photographs of Marilyn, but none can top these. What a pleasure it is to turn each page. She is so alive, so vibrant in Milton Greene's beautiful pictures. Congratulations to his son, Joshua, for preserving his father's work. It's still hard to believe that Marilyn was so tormented during her short life. In this book, she looks like the most cheerful and happy girl in the world. This book is definitely worth having.
