I own a 7610 and watch the 7610 reflector which is where I heard about this book. It was getting great reviews there so I took the leap and bought it. When I opened it, I didn't expect it to read or be structured like it is. It tells you what you'd want to know about setting the radio up - what buttons to push - in a simple, step-by-step way. There are nice explanations along the way but it becomes a GUIDE of how to set it up. Its straight forward, simple, and clarifies how to get to all of the end point destinations. I can imagine using this book a lot to quickly explore the many 7610 capabilities without stumbling through menus, manuals, emails, on-line searches, etc. Its a sole source reference. Sweet!

In a well organized, hands on, how to fashion, he presents a great go-to reference guide covering all aspects of setting up, operating and trouble shooting the IC-7610 written in everyday, user friendly language. Better yet, at the end of the book is a glossary of amateur radio abbreviations/acronyms, and an excellent index, to help the reader go straight to any aspect of the radio that the reader wants to learn more about.Anybody who owns or is considering buying an IC-7610 should read this book. When I want to learn more about my IC-7610, it will be the first guide I open.
What an outstanding read! I don’t care how long you’ve had your 7610, everyone will find very useful tips throughout this great book that you won’t find anywhere in the factory manuals. Highly recommended!!
This book makes a perfect tag along with the rig. I keep the Kindle version with all the key pages bookmarked. Well worth it.
The IC-7610 was my first Icom radio, incredible radio, it is the best transceiver I've ever owned! Coming from a history of mostly Yaseu radios, there was somewhat of a learning curve, so I wish I had owned this book when I first got my 7610. The book explains the various functions sooooo much better than the Basic & Advanced manuals from Icom. I highly recommend this book to any 7610 owner!73,Rick WN3T
I find the authors detailed description of functions that are just brushed on in the product manuals very helpful. I also own the IC-7300 and many of the functions covered also apply to the 7300 so you really get the best of both when you buy the 7610 book.
