About the Author
Annisa Morgan, grew up in Jamaica with her grandparents after her parents migrated to United States for a better life. When she turned ten years old, her parents decided to start sending her, lunch and allowance money for the month instead of sending it to her grandmother. She credits that experience for the financially savvy person she is today. With the money lessons she learned early in life, which were to save and invest wisely, she strongly believe that transformation through financial literacy is of paramount importance for our children. Empowering our children through financial literacy should begin at home and early. She took these early lessons to heart and started teaching them to her own children. She also knew she needed to help others and serve the community. She holds two Master degrees, one in Accounting and Financial Management and the other in Higher Education - College Teaching and Learning. She has worked as a Corporate Accountant for over 15 years and is an experienced Motivational Speaker, focusing on financial literacy. Her most important role however is being a wife and mother of three wonderful boys.

Although the title of the book indicates that the lessons are for kids and their parents, it is a must-read for anyone who wants to become financial literate or improve their financial management skills. It provides financial guidance on money matters such as saving, budgeting, investing, and debt management in a way that is very easy to understand. It is interspersed with practical activities that can be undertaken by parents and kids to improve their chances of financial success. I love the author's use of personal examples to support to information that is shared. A stand out section of the book is the chapter with the websites and resources for those who are interested in finding scholarships, internships and grants in the USA to finance their college education.
I love the way the author made money management easy to understand along with clear steps to take to meet your financial goals. I especially like the creative ways she used to get kids involved in saving and money management.
This book was amazing. I initially bought it for a young adult (high school age) but quickly realized that this book is suitable for multiple age ranges, including working professionals. It contains very valuable information, and touches on various aspects of finance from managing credit, to budgeting and even investing. The information is clear and concise, and the book, overall, is very well written. I highly recommend this as a read for children and adults alike.
