I love the writing's of LaShonda. I was hooked on the Langston series and this is no let down. This book is about the life of Robin and it makes for a interesting read. You will not be disappointed!!
Brokenness is the path to blessings. Before God can use us, He must break us. We have to move out of the way and let God do what is to be done. So often we think the problem is out there, but its definitely the image in the mirror and nothing will change until we let go and allow God to fix it. That means allowing God to break through our brokenness.When you meet Makayla revenge is what's driving her, however after meeting several characters things change for her. The relationships truly blessed me in more ways than one. This is my first Bowman read and it won't be my last, Pam V thank you for recommending this author to me & my book club.
It took a while to get into this book, but I stayed the course. I found two books in one as I got closer to the end. I'm still a fan of Ms. Bowman, but this book is not among my favorites. This author still has a way of connecting you with the characters. Although a very small part of the book, Mr. Jones is one of my favorite characters. If only to be in his kitchen, lol. Be blessed!
This is my first time reading LaShonda’s books. I was not disappointed. I loved it. She got five stars because she covered everything a good story needs. I read the whole book in two days. She has characters that come to life. You know them. You see them at church, stores, next door neighbors, in the streets. Please put this book on the must read list.
I chose this book because the cover made me look twice. I started reading and I felt immediately I was one of the people. This story was so well written, some time I laughed(thinking of Mr. Jones and his candy). Some time I wanted to cry(about Kim and Antoine's actions). I woke up early to get back to the story and stayed up late, I had to finish as fast as I could. I'm passing this book on to my book club (Susan's Read Too!) for our next selection. I loved this book.
Excellent read!! I am excited to go on to the next book in the series, can't wait to see how the others at New Life Tabernacle are handling their struggles as Christians. I couldn't read the book fast enough, the storyline had me from beginning to end!! Please continue writing stories of faith and tribulation Ms Bowman.
Well, my friend, you did it again! I reread this book in record time and of course I found things I missed the first time. Robin's story is so good and has several surprises. The book club appreciates you and your gift. Thank you for wonderful, sprit filled stories that touch our hearts. 💜💜💜
This is the 4th book that I've read by LaShonda Bowman and I absolutely LOVED the first three but it seemed like with this book. Ms. Bowman got lost in her writing and especially towards the end.
